Experience Canada’s Wilderness at English Summer School!

Destination Canada campers pose for a picture near the high and low rope courses
At Destination Canada, your child will get to study English on the beautiful Carleton University campus, located in the heart of Ottawa – Canada’s capital city. They’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the university’s many sports facilities, including an Olympic size pool. They’ll get to take a city tour of Ottawa, where they can go shopping at the nearby Rideau Centre mall. They’ll even enjoy weekend trips to top destinations like Niagara Falls and the city of Montreal.
But, if your child is interested in exploring some of Canada’s world famous wilderness, they’ll have opportunities for that as well. Here’s a look at some of the ways they can experience Canada’s natural beauty while at ESL school this summer.
Your Child Can Spot Local Animals at Park Omega While They Attend English Summer School
During their second weekend at Destination Canada, your child will get to visit Park Omega, located a scenic 50-minute drive away in Montebello, Quebec. Once there, your child will get to see wild Canadian animals up close and in their natural habitat. From the safety of the bus, Destination Canada campers can spot bison, moose, wild boars, black bears, and many other native animals.
Then, during the walking sections of the park, they can get even closer to docile animals like deer. Your child might even be able to feed them carrots, or get up close for a picture. It’s a top photo opportunity for kids at summer camp for international students!

Your Child Can Experience Canada’s Wilderness at Eco-Odyssey
Canada’s beautiful rivers and marshes are also a top site for your child to see when they attend English summer school in Canada. And, when it comes to beautiful water habitat parks, few are as fun as Eco-Odyssey, located just an hour outside of Ottawa.
Eco-Odyssey is a one-of-a-kind water maze. Once there, your child will get to explore it by paddle boat, all while under the supervision of our diligent instructors. Here’s a look at what the Eco-Odyssey looks like up close:
The Optional Adventure Weekend is a Top Choice for Outdoorsy Kids at English Summer School
If your child would like to experience a rustic yet comfortable weekend in Canada’s wilderness, then they might be interested in Destination Canada’s optional Adventure Weekend. This optional weekend tour brings campers right into Canada’s famous wilderness, and lets them try a number of outdoor activities that are popular among both locals and visitors alike.

Campers try canoeing during the Adventure Weekend at Destination Canada
During the Adventure Weekend, your child could try kayaking or canoeing in one of Canada’s many lakes. Or, if they’d like to test their limits (while still carefully supervised by our trained staff as well as staff from the outdoor camp), they can try their hand at rock climbing, mountaineering, and even exploring the forest through high and low rope courses.
Then, during the evenings, campers can experience a typical Canadian campfire. Destination Canada counsellors will tell them their favourite camp stories, and campers will get to roast marshmallows, and enjoy a fun evening in the Canadian outdoors.
It’s a not-to-be-missed weekend for any outdoorsy and adventure-loving child!
