How English Summer School Ensures Your Child’s Safety

Canada is one of the safest countries in the world. And Ottawa is ranked as one of the safest cities in the country. Even so, it’s important for parents to know that their child’s safety is a top priority at an English summer school. That’s why top ESL summer camp programs employ only the best instructors, and ensure that campers are carefully supervised at all times.

Two Teams of Experienced Instructors Supervise Your Child at English Summer School
At Destination Canada, your child will be carefully supervised by two distinct groups of instructors: our classroom teachers and activity personnel. Each group is made up of university-educated instructors, who work as teachers in Canada during the school year.
This means that each weekday English class is supervised by an experienced Canadian teacher. Class sizes are also small, with a maximum student to teacher ratio of 15:1. As a result, not only will your child get to learn English in a friendly small class setting, but they’ll be carefully supervised by an experienced instructor throughout the entire duration.
Outside of classroom time, your child will be supervised by our second group of instructors, who monitor and coordinate sports and after activities, and plan Destination Canada’s many trips and events. With the help of these two groups of instructors, your child will be carefully supervised each day of the week.

In addition, Carleton University Campus Security provides 24-hour supervision of the campus, ensuring that your child stays safe while they attend their international language program.
Destination Canada’s International Language Program Keeps Your Child’s Dietary Restrictions in Mind
For many parents of children with allergies, gluten intolerance, and other dietary concerns, knowing that their child will receive nutritious and healthy food while they attend an English summer school is important. At Destination Canada, campers get to enjoy three buffet-style meals per day, seven days a week. These meals are offered at the Carleton University cafeteria, where vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, and Halal options are available to campers.

The Fresh Food Company that oversees the Carleton University cafeteria is also a nut free facility. But even so, it’s always important to inform Destination Canada staff if your child suffers from allergies. This way, they can help ensure your child’s safety throughout the duration of their stay.
Full Medical Coverage is Included When Your Child Enrolls in English Summer School
Of course, even with the careful supervision of Destination Canada’s instructors, it’s important for parents to know that their child is fully covered in the event of an emergency. That’s why each camper receives full medical coverage up to $100,000CAD. And if your child feels under the weather, Carleton University’s on campus medical clinic is there to ensure that they are carefully looked after.
